Andrea Dossena began his footballing career in 2001 as a youth player at Italian side Verona, he later progressed to the first team where he made 99 appearances and scored 3 goals. In 2005 Andrea Dossena was bought by Italian Serie A side Udinese who then loaned him out to Treviso for a year where he made 21 first team appearances before returning to Udinese for the 06/07 season. Andrea Dossena remained at Udinese for another 2 years scoring 2 goals in his 63 appearances. On 17 October 2007, during his time at Udinese, Andrea Dossena made his international debut in Italy's friendly against South Africa.
